About AHA
The Attainable Housing Alliance, or AHA as we are commonly known, is a government and public relations Illinois not for profit organization established to represent the over 850 members and 1,000 associate members of the Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago, Northern Illinois Home Builder Association and Home Builder Association of Greater Fox Valley.

The name “Attainable” is symbolic of our efforts to prevent and in some cases reverse government’s trend of placing unjust fees and mandates on construction that quietly raises the cost of a new or remodeled home. AHA’s mission is to support our members in building homes that are “attainable” to residents of all demographics, regardless of economic standing.

AHA retains its strength through our diverse membership. Our three associations supply leads to issues affecting the homebuilding industry and homeownership, with our staff conducting the necessary research and community outreach needed to address public policy. It is through this partnership of hundreds of builders, contractors, unions and more that gives AHA its credibility throughout Northern Illinois.

Over the years AHA has won several notable victories in local municipalities, county board hearings and even the state legislature. We are highly regarded for our expertise in wetland and water management issues as well as impact fee usage and legality. AHA often works with the Home Builders Association of Illinois to collaborate our efforts in Springfield. It is our belief that victory is won through coalition building.
